Holiday Creep

I'm a big fan of both Starbucks and its Caramel Brûlé Lattes.

And I fully understand the idea of "holiday creep", and the importance of the holiday season to retailers big and small.

(I have toy catalogues from Amazon, Indigo, Mastermind Toys, and Walmart sitting on my desk, all of which were sent to me in early October.)

But you're never, ever, ever going to convince me that November 2nd is the right time to start promoting holiday beverages.*

I know this is wishful thinking, but I think it'd be nice if we could pause for just a little bit before jumping right into the holiday season, wouldn't it?

Perhaps, start on November 12th to give Remembrance Day some well-earned time in the spotlight?

Alas, I know I'm in the minority with this thinking...

... so if you've been waiting for those delicious Starbucks holiday beverages, they're now available. Pair it with a Cranberry Bliss Bar... they're incredible.

But the ban on holiday music and movies in my house until December 1st will continue.**

Ba-humbug!

A picture of Starbucks' 2023 Holiday beverage lineup: a Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brule Latte, and Chestnut Praline Latte.

* Or that Pumpkin Spice Latte promotions should begin in August, while we're on the subject... but I wrote that post a few months ago.

** Except for Die Hard and Elf: those holiday films are allowed year-round for what I think are fairly obvious reasons.
