On Twitter right now, there's a Gender Pay Gap Bot.
The bio simply reads: "Employers, if you tweet about International Women's Day, I'll retweet your gender pay gap 👀 #IWD2022 #BreakTheBias "
Hey, companies.... feeling nervous?
Well, if you're posting inspirational messages today instead of addressing systemic problems with your HR policies, you probably should be.
This bot appears to be focused only on U.K. companies right now, so it's possible (even likely) that companies in the rest of the world will manage to get away with their performative posts for one more year.
But @PayGapApp shows us how easy it is for hypocrisy to be exposed in today's world.
Isn't technology awesome?
Personally, next year I'd like every single IWD post to follow the same format:
===============
Happy International Women's Day!
Here are the concrete actions we took last year to move our company towards gender equality:
* Action 1, with results
* Action 2, with results
* Action 3, with results
etc...
===============
Inspirational quotes and accompanying images are completely optional.
Meaningful actions, starting right now, are not.
