I wasn't going to post anything today.
It's Canadian Thanksgiving, and I figured most of my regular readers would be enjoying the holiday with their family or perhaps taking a well-earned day of rest on their own.
In any case, I doubted any of them would miss my newsletter in their inbox. And I thought, "Why should I spend time writing something nobody would actually read?"
But then I thought about the streak.
Since I started this blog (which began life as a newsletter) in January 2020, I have not missed a single regularly scheduled post.
That's 92 consecutive weeks of regular writing and regularly delivering something to my subscribers' inboxes when I said I would... because I said I would.
That streak wasn't easy to achieve.
And I decided I didn't want to start back at zero tomorrow for no good reason.
Also, I decided long ago that "too tired" and "too lazy" are not good reasons.
It's not always easy to keep going.
So today I'm thankful for all those around me who keep me going when it would be easier to quit, even if they don't realize they're doing it: my children, my wife, my family, my friends.
And if you're reading this, I'm thankful for you too.
Because I definitely wouldn't have a 92-week streak without you.
